Bought 4 to use the SATA drive for the old IDE only system. Works great for me. It also works well for old IDE drive NAS system. Cheap solution than buying SATA PCI card if you just need to 1 port. For b usiness machine every cent counts.
But I did not try to use IDE drive on SATA port so I cannot confirm if it function the other way around.
I have one of these as well. Tried to use it on several different IDE drives, didn't work, no response, system never detects it. Disappointing.
Purchased 2 of these from Meritline, neither worked. Tried on 3 different IDE drives also. Gonna try a SATA/IDE to USB cable adapter as an alternative.
