I wonder how hard it would be to just load xp on with an external cd drive?

It's easy as pie. The hardware is identical to the XP version, and the system will readily boot off external USB devices. And then just use a USB flash drive on another computer to download all the XP drivers from Dell's site.

I just bought the XP version above with 1mb ram and XP. $399 and I used my Amex $250 coupon from rewards points. Only cost me $150.

These mini laptops are meant for minimal used. It is hard to look at such a small display. I purchased the Acer with W XP 120gb, and while it looks great, using it for extended periods of times can cuase blindness.
By the way, Acers are better built and they give you more for your $$. don't bother with these with SD GBs instead of Hard drives. You will regret it, like must of my friends that got these king. I got the Acer at Amazon for 360, no tax no S/H.

At the same price, the Acer blows the doors off this pup.

    Donââ¬â¢t Give Up, Pal

And now itââ¬â¢s time for another episode of ââ¬ÅDr. Failure, The Bad Mad Scientistââ¬Â.

ââ¬ÅJenny, Iââ¬â¢m so excited to be back here at Dr. Failureââ¬â¢s secret castle lavatory!ââ¬Â

    ââ¬ÅYou mean laboratory, Jake!ââ¬Â

    ââ¬ÅNo, I really gotta go!ââ¬Â
    HA

ââ¬ÅWell, youââ¬â¢ll just have to hope there are some trees nearby because weââ¬â¢re not going to the lab. Weââ¬â¢re going to those skyscrapers over there!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅSkyscrapers? Hey, arenââ¬â¢t those the Kingston Towers? Theyââ¬â¢re full of digital storage space!ââ¬Â

    ââ¬ÅZatz right, Jake, my boy!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅHey! Dr. Failure! Great to see you again!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅUnd ewe two, you two! Youââ¬â¢re juzt in time to zee my latezt monzzzztrozoty!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅDr. Failure, really, you must be teasing us. That looks like an ordinary curtain rod!ââ¬Â
    HA

    ââ¬ÅYez, Jenny, but can a curtain rrrod doââ¬Â¦ ZIS???ââ¬Â
    VRRRWOM

    ââ¬ÅJenny, what happened?ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅThose skyscrapers! Theyââ¬â¢veââ¬Â¦ shrunk! Why, now theyââ¬â¢re just the right size to pick up!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅUnd zay have hundredz of zouzandz of megabytz inzide! Enough to capture zee data of zee worrrrld!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅSays it just has four gigs, Doc.ââ¬Â

    ââ¬ÅVat?ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅYes, Dr. Failure. It looks like you shrank everything. Youââ¬â¢ve got two of them, though, so thatââ¬â¢s about eight gigs of space. Eight gigs is a lot!ââ¬Â

ââ¬ÅButââ¬Â¦ butââ¬Â¦ zee data of zee worldââ¬Â¦ it waz going to be at my fingertipzââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â

ââ¬ÅThat doesnââ¬â¢t work if youââ¬â¢re all thumbs, Do... [Truncated]
