This is a retail boxed CPU with Heatsink and Fan included. People are overclocking this thing to 3.6GHz with just air cooling & a good aftermarket heat sink.

  • Intel Celeron E1500 2.2GHz 512KB L2 Dual-Core Processor = $45 w/ code EMCLXNS42

starts at $168 and with coupon you pay $170? that's a pretty bad coupon if it makes you pay $2 more.
it actually takes off $10, in case you were wondering.

I find newegg has pretty suck prices when it comes to cpu's and hard drives. The rest, they're great. Microcenter seems to kick newegg in the balls squarely on a regular basis.

#1, that coupon adds $2 but they will throw in a free $45 Celeron. Just kidding.

I live near Micro Center. Sometimes their site lists an item was available at our local store, but in fact it was not when I came.
Last time I got a Q9550 from them for $167 plus 6% tax while egg had one for $219 I remember. Even amazon, zipzoomfly, jr sometimes offer better prices than egg, but egg usually adapts the new rates quite quickly. Amazon once offered the Cooler Master Scout case for $90 shipped, egg adjusts their price a day later.

I don;t understand.. isn't this a ridiculous price for this dual core cpu, considering that you could get a q6600 for less??

Great dual core CPU. Not worth this much. Spend a few bucks more for a i5/i7 or a Q9550 if you need socket 775.

Bensie is out of his mind. This was less at Frys yesterday, with a decent Gigabyte motherboard included.

Was it bad food or STD? Or a genetic disease? Too bad the CA services are shutting down for budgetary reasons- maybe some viewers can volunteer some help for him.

Subscribe to their newsletter if the coupon doesn't work for you.

As #1 said, final price is $157.99.

Micro Center has the quad-core chip for $170+shipping.

Microcenter had been selling these chips for $149 about a year ago when I was looking. Not sure if they still do.

Not sure why anyone would buy one of these though with the Q9550 only $169 at MC
