    No VT support. Avoid if you want to run Vmware, VirtualBox or any computer virtualization stuff. Recently saw a Q8400 for $169 the last month at microcenter.

    #1: or get any AMD Quad, they all support VT.

    You can get a 3.2ghz AMD quad with an unlocked multiplier for this price.

    Don't forget to factor in the additional cost for an i7 motherboard. Those don't come cheap.

    #5 is exactly spot-on correct. the i7 mobos are brutally expensive. save yourself the money, and wait for the newer i5 motherboards based on P55 - you'll also have to spend 1/3 less on DDR3 because the i7 will ONLY run with 3 channels of DDR3. Absolutely not worth the extra cost and power dissipation.
