    For those with access Microcenter has the q9550 for $169.99 without any rebate/ebillme.

    But it comes back to the same argument, if you already have the LGA 775 components(especially if you have high-end) then it makes sense to upgrade to something like the Q9550. But if you are building a new system then go with i7.

    Really, what is all the fuss about with the newer processors?

    My Abit ABIT BE6-II with its Deschutes Pentium II 333 MHz and 640 MB of RAM can do everything it is asked to do and still have plenty of juice left over.

    The only thing I've had to do to this system is replace a few mobo caps, which I did myself, and it is still going and going.

    Now that I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows ME and got a faster hard drive, I can even multitask much better than before.

    this cpu can OC close to 4Ghz on a good air cooler like V8 or V10 or megahalems

    #13, since it has 4 cores, you can actually look at 2 word files while surfing both internets, all at the same time.
