    another cost saving benefit of an amd chip, all the motherboard options come with either a decent nvidia or ati video chipset. intel on the other hand, comes with a baconnaise intel video.

    Except Intel supports more DirectX Video Acceleration than ATI does. Beyond that, though, there'd be no reason to actually use Intel's integrated graphics.

    Except even WITH Intel's DXVA support, it still sux compared to ATI and/or Nvidia

    Larrabee anyone?

    To buy a processor that is well above the average persons needs and then argue what the best IGP solution for it, is...

    Why is this great thing for us? Is P55 Express chipset Mobo's dirt cheap... well not today!
    As #2 stated the total package solution is not cheap (approx $125 higher) and still not as robust overall. When a MSI 785GTM-E45 and Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz can be picked up for about $160 and from the "seat of the pants" operations won't differentiate a rats-aZZ.
