Make no mistake, this is the fastest desktop processor on the planet. Currently second to the i7 Extreme series BUT this beast can overclock beyond 5 ghz without a sweat, making an overclocked 2600K faster than an overclocked 9xx Extreme.
I've got mine at 4.7 simply by sliding the multiplier to 47, I have not even begun to use the DIGI+VRM tools yet! I'm pretty sure it can touch 5.4 ghz.
Win 7 took a little over 10 minutes to install.
Passmark.com gives the most accurate cpu benchmark, the 2600K scores 10,300 + at 3.4 ghz at 5.4ghz it scores above 16,300!

Just to compare - a stock core i7 950 scores 6,300 and ~8500 when fully overclocked.
This WILL BE the fastest processor family for the next 2 years until the Haswell generation is released in 2013.
Why no 1366 socket? Looks good but I'm not interested in a new MB again.

damn and that's the k version that can be overclocked, the other versions are locked.
