Is this cpu powerful enough to browse the internet and send emails provided I don't do these two tasks concurrently?
It is a tempting guess, but I'm gonna have to say as long as you're running 16GB+ DDR3 pc20k, you should hopefully be fine. But don't trust me completely on that #1.
You should probably increase the fan speed of your system if you want to run those apps together. If you can comfortably talk while the fans are running, they need to be turned up. Enjoy your new chip!
if you're close enough to a microcenter, pick up an i7-930 for $200. 200mhz difference is very neglegible
