12.5x multiplier! This thing has mad OC potential.
12.5 x 200mhz = 2.5GHz
12.5 x 266mhz = 3.3GHz
I'm guessing this thing can easily do upper 3Ghz with only minor voltage tweaks. Anyone have any exp with these yet?
It's a Wolfdale core, so with a little voltage bump and a decent cooler, it should hit 4GHz.
I plugged it right into my wall socket.
You should've seen how fast it flew across the room.
is this a good deal ?
#4, yes. This is like the E4300 (one of the previous budget OC'er choices).
It's Buy.com so watch out. They asked me for my driver license and credit card copy to stall time because they don't actually have the item in stock.
BTW, Newegg has this processor for $89.99, $1.75 more.
I've got one sitting at my front door right now; bought it on Friday from NewEgg. Tonight I'll be putting it into an Asus PQ5L-Pro P43 mobo to see if I can hit 400Mhz clock fo a grand total of 5ghz. We'll see!
#7 - Let us know if you're successful!
a 100% oc.i havent herd that since the old pentium processors
4ghz air or water cooled?
is this enough ps for this cpu?
Thermaltake W0093RU 500W Power Supply $44 at ZipZoomFly.com
or does it need ~1000w?
#10, it actually uses less power since it is 45nm 500w should be plenty, depends on your rig (mainly your video card)
Guys, what r thoughts:
With the e7200 available for $99 at Microcenter, dont u think this needs to drop to $79 for a good deal?
might be time to upgrade the 2180. been running for a year with a 50% overclock with stock cooling... this could be a bit better I think.
whats the cache on this thing
