Hotness UNHOT
We've adapted our original Tracker technology and applied it to help your grubby hands get a hold of Black Friday online specials before anyone else. Each tracker will individually monitor each hot Black Friday item, showing you the availability in real-time. The prices listed are the Black Friday prices, which may not become available until the stores do their BF refresh. Stores currently tracked:

CompUSA - BestBuy - CircuitCity - Staples - OfficeMax - OfficeDepot - Kmart - Walmart - Sears

Update: CompUSA, CircuitCity, BestBuy, Walmart are now partly or mostly live and available online!

#9 - "Black Friday" was nicknamed because of the effects on retail employees. It is one of the longest and most crowded days in the stores all year long. A day of dread for many retail employees. Sales figures usually trail one of the last shopping days before Christmas but BF is usually second or third highest grossing for the year. Many are pushing back the "start" of the holiday season so we see hot deals on thursday and even Wednesday before T/giving day. Happy shopping!

#9, #25 and anyone else who wants to know, "Black Friday" is "Black" because of the huge amount of business that is done as people start buying presents for Christmas. To be "in the black" is to be making profits or to be ahead financially. This is to be contrasted with being "in the red" which is where stores typically are until this rush. So, starting the first day after Thanksgiving, e the first day of the Christmas season, (which is always a Friday since Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday) and hopefully for the rest of the year, stores should be coming out ahead.
That's the history--now that virtually nobody thinks about Thanksgiving but just goes straight to Christmas after (or even before) Halloween, I don't think it applies.

I'm looking at one of the tracker store's Thursday pricing, and it doesn't jive with the tracker. The tracker says today's pricing should be much lower, but not so, at least not yet. Will check later.
