These don't put much load on the battery - the $4 multimeter from Harbor Freight tells you more about the battery output. (And works on RC car batteries etc)

I'm trying to figure out when you'd ever need a non-portable battery tester.

Agree with #5, think it needs to be a little more...useful. Then again, if you are always getting your charged vs non-charged batteries (if they're rechargeable that is, batteries mixed up, then maybe it would be useful?

I remember when duracell had free testers attached to the package of batteries. They were cheap but worked. $5.00 seams a little high for something this simple.

Well then its sure a good thing that he let us know that we can test AA, AAA, C, D, and 1.5v batteries.

#8, and even before that, they had the battery tester on EVERY common battery sizes from duracell. they figured to cut costs by putting just 1 on the packaging which doesn't work as well. and then they realized that consumers want to save money rather than test batteries out. great handy idea but wasn't worth the return for Duracell

tien999, i have some batteries (couple hundreds) to test, do you want to lick hundreds of 9v batteries? I will throw in some 1.5v as well for dessert.

LOL, #3. Looks it can use an power adapter or something called a "Gear Juice- Mobile Pocket Power" with a USB charging cable.
