Apple Store has the refurbished iPod classic 80GB Digital Music/Video Player for $169 + $0 shipping = $169 shipped. This is the previous generation iPod with Cover Flow & other dubious improvements. It has an all-metal design, with 30hour(s) battery life in audio mode. Storage for up to 20,000 songs or up to 100 hours of video. [BizRate]

Dubious improvements perhaps, but the battery life as compared to the previous generation HD based Ipods is enough of a reason to look at one of these. I get right around the 30 hours advertised as compared to about 10 hours that my (30 Gig) 5.5G gave me.

yes, but a refurbed apple product will only last 1-day longer than the warranty.

Not true #2. I have a refurbed 2G Nano that's going on 2 years now with no problems.

Agree with #3. I have a refurb 80GB classic and a refurb 30GB video Ipod. Both have been 100% problem free.

I like my 80GB Ipod classic. But I still think the Ipod is overpriced and overhyped. I use a Sansa Fuse 4GB when I jog/workout/bike. The ipod serves as an extra HDD when I travel.

In for one for my mom's Christmas gift. I got my wife one last year and while they're more $$ than any other MP3 player, they're easy for non-technical types to use.

This is a good deal, I also have the 30GB video one and I love it, and from what I'm hearing these are even better, like the feature that can tell you the song your listening to on the radio

I agree with a lot of the ipod haters, but I have a couple for the simple reason of market share. My stereo has a compatible dock, my car stereo too. Also my bedside clock.

Not a whole hell of a lot of Zune and Sansa-compatible stuff floating around out there except headphones...
