The right tool for the job!
The markings on the side are metric, so when you come across a bolt or nut you can adjust these, get a size, then know which socket or wrench to grab on the first try. That's especially handy when you can't even see the fastener and/or it's a pain to crawl out from under a car more than once to grab the right tool size.
Funny that they are metric and have metric markings, yet come in 6", 10", and 12" sizes!
