Ghetto ass piece of baconnaise.
Don't know about #1, but this is one of the best BlueTooth devices I've used. And I have tried quite a few. The big surprise is the in-the-ear headset that comes with the BT3030. The bass response on these are very good (as good as my Shures which alone cost >$150). The controls on the dogtag are easy to use and work well. And it's easy to take calls while listening to music or podcast. I use it with a BlackBerry 8820 and the BT3030 pairs promptly with the phone as soon as it's turned on. This is a good solution for those who want to listen to music from their phone and want to pick up calls coming in while moving around/working out. This is a good alternative to a totally wired solution--I've found that when I used wired headsets that connect to the phone at the waist, they typically get snagged on other things at waist-level like arms of chairs, doorknobs, handlebars, and the like, pulling the phone out of its case and you helplessly watch it fall.
This is one of the few bluetooth products that can be hooked up to an auxiliary input equipped car stereo with its 3.5mm jack. The JVC (HAW700BT) and Sony Ericsson (HBH-DS220) equivalents cost almost twice as much. Pair it with an FM transmitter and you can pretty much add bluetooth to any car stereo.
