I tried the jawbone 2 and the pain in the ass with this thing is that it has to stay in contact with the side of your face or it doesn't work at all. If it loses contact, it sucks.. they don't hear you at all.

Too much cost for something that may not work.

Why not just make it fit right, so that it stays in contact with your face? It's really not that hard.

In my experience most BT headsets just sound bad when there's any significant noise, unless you really speak up. My Jawbone 2 works really well (again, because I actually make sure it's in place and fits right), especially with their new earpieces which let you use the headset without the ear loop. Do I want something that *can* work well given some minimal effort to reposition, or something that works poorly regardless of position? I'll take the one that has the good potential.

I've tried the Plantronics Discovery 925, which most say is on par with the Jawbone. With the right positioning, the Jawbone won by a mile. I have no experience with the Jawbone 3 but I'd imagine it's not worse. A Jawbone 2 at $60 is probably right at the sweet spot, though.

Jawbone 2 was supposed to have terrible wind noise and the ads for the Jawbone 3 say it has greatly, wonderfully improved noise reduction so by logic I would guess the Jawbone 2 really sucked with wind noise and if you are lucky, Jawbone 3 will be better.

In the car, the Blueant line of speakers is far better than a dorky headset.

Get your ass out of the car if you need to talk, you are killing kittens, dolphins and baby seals with your irresponsible behavior.

#6, it seems like that has changed...

    Quote:
    AVAD

Acoustic Voice Activity Detector (AVAD) provides a fail-safe mechanism when the Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) doesn't touch your face. When the VAS is not touching the face, Jawbone PRIME performs as good as or better than any other noise cancelling headset. When the VAS touches the face, you get the turbo-boost to the NoiseAssassin performance.

I have the original Jawbone and am very happy with it. It seems like I see more complaints on the jawbone II then the original. When this comes down in price I think it would be a good option.[/url]

Don't trust anything that gives a "turbo-boost" to performance...

The Jawbone 2 sucked if you were wearing sunglasses, which could keep the Jawbone 2 out of contact. It was also uncomfortable under those circumstances. This in ear design should improve that a lot. It's certainly worth trying when the price comes down.

i got the 3 and am 100% satisfied. Had wired and wireless headsets of all brands an this thing is truly incredible. The new earbud design puts it into place everytime with just the right tension. To test it i called someone while on the expressway going 45. Then opened the windows. A truck passed and sounded his horn, then a cop with a siren, then a train. When i asked the person where i was he said at home. This thing is beautiful. No difference with the earloop or with glasses. New earbud, along with 2 mics makes all the difference.

It's cool, but kind of pricey. Only bad thing is the ear hook, kinda annoying while wearing glasses.

#14, there is no ear hook for Prime, neither does Jawbone 2 if you use their new ear buds.
