The Polk Audio PSW505 12-Inch Powered Subwoofer seems to be a better deal at $190 shipped, and has better reviews than the JBL ES250PBK:

It should have better reviews. The 10" JBL is 50-150 Hz., not much of a so-called sub I'd say. The 12" JBL is an octave better at 25-150 Hz. The Polk you reference beats them both at 23 - 160 Hz. The Polk has less rated power than the 12" JBL, but any of them should be capable of deafening you.
'Egg has the same Polk for $250 with $60 off with coupon # EMCXVXR228 (ends 2/11) making it the same $190. I'd rather deal with 'egg than Amazon, all else being equal.
