Be careful not to use this outdoor when it's windy or your camera will fall off.

#1 - fall off? Fall over, maybe. I have the smaller Gorillapod Jr. and it holds my camera very securely. There's even a little lever to lock it in place.

And if you're worried about it falling over, just use the legs to wrap around a tree branch or a fence post or whatever. The whole point of this thing is that you don't have to use it as just a tripod. In fact, you can lay the legs flat -- at which point it would take a gale-force wind to blow the thing over.

    Very highly recommended.

I picked this up from Joby for $17.56 shipped about three weeks ago (there was a coupon code). It is very short, not meant to be used as anything but a tabletop tripod. It was designed to grab anything so that you don't need a full size tripod.

The Radio Shack one is a Targus, and smaller than this one, regularly $15. The bigger Targus there is $30.
