there is a joke in the car audio industry, that says "JVC stands for junk with various controls" which about sums them up.
#2 I've had this model for two years with no problems. Worked well with my ipod until I switched to a 2nd gen touch which is not supported.
I have had very good luck with JVC stuff over the years. None of it let me down. It was always pretty bare bones but it did everything you needed it to do but not much else.
