^ U-haul (if not somebody else) charges $20 plus $0.59 per mile for a pickup truck. Ben has had deals on trailers too, they were more than $70 but then you keep something from the money spent that you can haul stuff with next time. http://bensbargains.net/deal/197275/
... better way, find a neighbor with a pickup and show up at his door on the weekend with some beer.
^ A modern fridge/freezer only weighs about 200 lb, maybe less by now, a couple guys could do it and at the store one of the guys can be the one dollying it out to the customer pickup area. You don't even need to lift the entire weight at once, tip it down onto the tailgate so the truck is bearing half the weight while you lift the bottom up and vice versa unloading it, though you still have to get it from your driveway to its final destination.
I just bought one. Seems like a pretty good deal. But after tax and delivery Its almost $900. Only if I owned a truck I could have saved $70

Yeah i thought about that, but moving that big sucker on and off the truck ain't going to be fun. Oh well still a pretty good deal.

The neighbor/beer idea is easier.
