Until they add a a memory card slot (and micro HDMI would be nice), you're better off getting a real tablet like an Acer or Asus.

There is micro HDMI. Yeah, a memory card slot would be nice. But even if they add one, it's still not a real tablet. It's a platform for consuming Amazon products. And it does that very well.

Got the 8.9" during a Black Friday sale and I use it more than any other tablet, and I have several....perfect size for traveling and the display is nothing short of amazing. I got the 32GB due to the lack of a memory slot...no regrets...great tablet. If you're not a avid Amazon customer though (I am), you'll be missing a significant part of it's features.

Is that why all of my FB i-friends are constantly posting for help with their i-pads/phones?

If they added micro HDMI, that's a nice feature. But they try to limit you on storage to force you to buy stuff from them so you can store it in their cloud. A memory card slot would have been a cheap addition.

I like Amazon and do a lot of business with them but the Kindle scares me. (So does their website the more I think of it.) Amazon will track and monitor everything you buy or look at. Even your internet access is filtered through their screens. It's not for a more smoother service but for them to see where and what you are shopping or looking at. Net neutrality really needs to be the necessity.

QC on Kindle isn't very good. They're selling them at cost they have to recoup it someways by doing ads or suck the usage info.
