Buy.com has the Kingston 8GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive for $19 - $5 using PayPal = $14 with free shipping. It has the old design with a losable cap, and is covered by a 5-year warranty.

I bought the 16g ver of this model. Great item. Went into the washing machine with my pants and still works!

I agree with #2 Newegg is far more reputable than Buy.com. Though I have picked up a thing or two at Buy.com (but I'm still uneasy about it). And the newegg deal is just a couple bucks more for 16gb

I have never had a problem ordering from buy.com. Actually, they've treated me better than newegg. Buy.com has sent me prepaid shipping labels, something Newegg is always reluctant to do.

I own this particular drive, and although the transfer rate is slow, it's a reliable drive. I also bought the 16 gb version from Newegg for $20, but they are sold out now.

#2 thanks for the newegg link for the 16GB stick. Kingston is a
    very reliable branch.

Kingston is known for reliability but this particular series of USB drives has also been known for lackluster performance. I'm unsure though if file transfer speeds have improved with these higher capacity flash drives.
