Buy.com has the Kingston 8GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive for $15 with free shipping. It has the old design with a losable cap, and is covered by a 5-year warranty.

Only 15 dollars...this is ridiculous. Man these things have come down in price. Or you could get the 16gb Corsair for 25 at buy.com...

Traditionally this model of Kingston drives has been slower than contemporary brands / competing models at the same price point. IOW, no reason to buy one unless you really dig the design of the casing. It is a reasonably sturdy case for being a two piece clamshell type design, but that also makes it more susceptible to very long dry-out times (several days to be on the safe side) if you get it wet.

Losable cap? I've had a Kingston flash drive with this cap design for a couple of years. I keep it on my key chain and it sees plenty of abuse. Haven't lost the cap yet.

Anyone know if this is supported by the vast # of dvd players with usb ports? I know some usb drives appear as unknown devices.

Nice slim case that won't hog up the adjacent USB ports like the Corsair does. No rebate is nice, too.

Still, I'd wait for BF deals at this point.

#6 I've used the 4GB version on a Philips DVP5982 and it mostly works. Occasional stuttering on high-bitrate scenes, but I think this is a problem with the USB port on this player.

I want to buy a few of these.. should I buy them now are or the prices still dropping? Maybe I'll just buy them now.. $15 isn't much.
