BestBuy.com has the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speakers for $100 + shipping. Pick up in-store to save on shipping. These probably qualify as oldies but goodies now. [Review : BizRate]
Some of the parts look like average materials(wires), but I just got one for 94 after tax using the coupon and these speakers sound good for the price.
Haha, you guys are on crack! These speakers rock my house. The best addition to my pc I have ever made. They sound good even with my pos integrated sound card.
What is amazing is I have the Klipsch 5.1 system which are nice but retailed in the high 300-400 range. I then took two of these 2.1 systems with my $30 creative card and had both sets come off the one card. I was amazed that two 2.1 systems sounded better than my 5.1 system which had 5 speakers including a larger Sub. So basically for <$200 two of these sounded better than a more expensive 5.1 system.
You know #9 most audiophiles(including myself) will tell you that music sounds best(and is intended to be) played on a twopointone setup rather than fivepointone. I personally know several people that use two large tower speakers for music and a complete separate set of 5 more speakers for surround sound. This is a big reason why receivers have an A/B switch for the speaker output!
dont forget #10 that "good" sounding music is all based on personal opinion...an example is the age old debate in tube vs solid state. he apparently like 4.2 better than 2.1, although i too find that odd.
"oldies"? Maybe if you're a teenager...
Great Speakers and worth a trip to Best-Buy @ this price.
To be honest, I don't think these speakers are all their cracked up to be. Sorry. Listen to these before you buy them.
Add this coupon to make it 88 bucks!

#3 You may want to clean the wax from you ears. These speakers ROCK!
