i bought these speakers from midnightbox about 2 months ago...the condition that it came in was pretty crappy...the worst condition refurb i've ever seen.

I almost jumped on these, then read some reviews; a good number of people say the sub is boomy, distorts and generally isn't all that.

I'd be careful with MidnightBox refurb items. I bought three sharper image ionic breeze air filtration systems and even though all three were in their original boxes, one was not packed well. What's worse is all three units were dirty so they obviously didn't even bother to clean and return them to factory condition. They are, however, working. for now.

These are phenomenal speakers. Have owned 2 pairs and have been the best PC 2.1 sets I've owned. Had a cord/connector fray on me and was too much of a pain to repair.
Cant speak for Midnight Box quality tho.
Got 5 of their mystery boxes and it was filled with CRAP!

Ditto with #4, these are a phenomenal set of speakers. Sub is extremely loud and sounds amazing. I upgraded to a 5.1 setup, moving to the Logitech Z-5500, but still have my old set hooked up to a receiver in the garage ... Very Happy
