all my destop speakers is made by Creative Labs. You would'nt able to tell any difference when using a sound card. I paid Ten Dollars after 40 mail-in rebates got all my rebates. Don't get me wrong, Klipsch is a good brand so is Bose..
LOL at the comment above comparing Creative Labs to Bose and Klipsch. I'll agree that BOSE is overpriced, over-marketed, but it's still better than Creative Labs if you only compare their PC speakers. Klipsch on the other hand, is miles ahead of either of those comparing any of their 2.1 PC setups. There's a reason these two speakers are still around. Even the supposed "THX" logitech setup I bought to replace my Klipsch could not compare. There's no debate, just buy the Klipsch 2.1 unless you have money to buy their new iFi
I bought these for my dad Christmas 2008 when they were on sale for this price. It is very rare that the price drops this low on this set. I am envious of my dad's speakers every time I visit his home and use his computer. You will not be disappointed with this if you're looking for a 2.1 setup. The sound is so rich and the speakers are very powerful with no distortion.
