ISO 8000!! Marketing department claims gone wild!!!

      MacLife review says:
"Noise mars most images, even in bright daylight. 2.5-inch LCD gets washed out in sunlight. Disappointing HD video. Slow recovery after shooting a photo."

Great little camera and has HD video (720p). Well worth $100, but make sure you opt for rechargable batteries...

#2: do you own this camera? Reviews of this camera don't paint the same cheery picture. There are numerous complaints of high amounts of noise in the photos, and poor quality movie.

The features listed look nice, but it seems Kodak stumbled in the execution.

For a bit more money, you can get the Cannon Powershot A1000 camera. According to reviews, picture quality is very good. Plus, it will soon be able to run the CHDK firmware, which adds many nice features to your camera. For example, you can use RAW picture storage(rather than just JPEG), change the video compression rate, get a live histogram as you're setting up your picture, use faster shutter times, take time-lapse movies, have an on-camera calender, and play games. You can also write your own scripts for it in a BASIC type language, to do things like take a picture when the camera sees movement, or automatically capture pictures of lightning.

      here's a page that describes CHDK: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_in_Brief

From my general experience I would put Kodak at the bottom of the list.

Here is a fairly comprehensive review with an HD recording sample: http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/kodak/z1085-review/index.shtml For $100, I don't understand all the hate.
As a caution, you will need a rechargeable lithium kit. You can get a generic charger and 2 packs for about $30.
