Kodak cameras just don't seem to have the quality that they use to. All the models I've looked at recently seemed flimsy, like they'd break easily. There are several similarly priced cameras from Canon or Pentax that would be a better buy in my opinion.
picked this one up two weeks ago... it hosts some of the best features in the faux-slr class but for the lowest price.
my opinion of kodak has been about the same as all y'all, but this thing is sturdy, has amazing slr-like manual features (only missing white balance), and shoots the BEST hd video i've ever seen in a camera designed to take stills.
long story short, i'd buy one for everyone i know if i had the cash.

i don't remember kodak ever making a must-have camera, they've always been paper and film makers to me.
