I picked one of these up from Woot! for the same price a while back. First thing you will need to do is upgrade the firmware. Don't expect any FW upgrades beyond what is currently available from Kodak. This device seems to be at end of life. Also, there is no on/off switch. Once you plug it in it is on. You need to run a copy of the included SW on any PC that you want to use as a content store. That PC needs to be wired into your network. It will not work with machines on your wireless. The device itself will work off the wireless, but you can forget about accessing any of the content off the internet through it unless you wire it in as well. Even with all these issues I might pick up a second one as a gift since they work pretty well once you know the limitations.

#1 is correct on all points except for one, which is that accessing content off the internet wireless works without having to wire it in. i'm able to access my video rss as well as youtube with no issue. my other complaint about the unit is that it plays vob files one at a time which sucks.

I bought one from Woot, too. Couldn't get it to work properly and eventually had to call tech support. Turns out the box mine came in had the wrong software disk. With the right SW, setup was very easy. I don't recall that the unit ever had to be connected by hard wire during setup. Anyhow, mine is hardwired only to the TV (and power, of course). It accesses web content easily. No PC has to be on unless you want to view the PC's content. It doesn't handle as many file types as some others. It can't display some of the You Tube videos that are accessible by PC. Sometimes it freezes and reboots itself or has to be rebooted. The remote is unusual with an on-screen pointer. I'm happy with mine and would buy it again.
