It must be hardwired to the router and must have a 2.4GHz Pentium CPU?? That's a little much for what this is.

    System Requirements:

    * Computer or laptop must be connected to your home network router via Ethernet cable (hardwired)
    * WINDOWS XP (SP2), WINDOWS VISTA or newer
    * Minimum 2.4 GHz PENTIUM CPU or equivalent
    * 1 GB RAM, 5 GB free disk space (recommended) / 512 MB RAM, 1 GB free disk space (minimum)

#7 anyone who doesn't use MKVs is living in the dark ages. AVIs are pathetic quality compared to MKV. I stick with my useless.

I bought this from Woot. Shipping was slow but did arrive in good condition. Set it up yesterday. No, it does not have to be hard wired to the router. Used it with one of the networked PCs with less than "requirements" and no problem. The software CD that shipped with mine was the wrong one for the unit. Had to download the right utilities then all was well. Contrary to the experience of one Amazon reviewer, it works well with Windows 7 and YouTube access is satisfactory.
