More importantly it's a multifunction color laser for $300. Too bad it's a triple pass on the color.

Most slugs you work with in an office have no idea how to use color effectively. An expensive waste of time for most offices. At $80 PER COLOR for toner for this printer, Kinkos makes way too much sense for your color printing needs.

Mine broke yesterday. They are sending me a new one with free return shipping of the old one. Hopefully the new one will last longer.

#4, what kind of "idea how to use color" is really required? Most aren't creating content they're just printing something with color on it.

Granted, letting them print an endless amount of color pics will empty a cartridge pretty quick but with mere 2,500 page cartridges this is not meant for an office with several users per printer, cartridge replacement would be too frequent. If for only a limited # of users there is easier accountability per user.

While $80 for color carts isn't all that unreasonable, since you would expect to pay about that from other manufacturers, for home use it becomes expensive that there doesn't appear to be any source for DIY refill kits on this model.

Since 4 x $80 carts cost more than the printer (which appears to come with full, not starter carts but check on this yourself as I could be wrong), it is still a good deal for a low end MFP since nobody wants to have to drive to Kinkos unless it's for bulk photographic prints.
