Buy.com has the Konica Minolta magicolor 1690MF Multifunction Color Laser Printer for $300 with free shipping. Simitri HD Polymerized Toner from Konica Minolta is comprised of smaller size toner particles with more consistent shape to produce the highest quality images and text at 1200 x 600 DPI.
I call BS on their toner marketing, if these were smaller particles giving higher quality it would be reflected in a higher resolution spec, while 1200x600 is what you should expect from any brand in median or higher cost color lasers.
The cartridges are only 2k5 pages per and the scanner is only 8bit. I suspect this latter spec is wrong as scanners have been higher than 8bit color for a long, long time but that's what they claim so be aware it might be. Pity they don't mention if it ships with starter carts or full ones, and 5 pages per minute in color is kinda slow by today's standards.
So you get what you pay for but in this case it seems you can do better at the price point by looking for a deal on something else instead.
I'd rather print it by hand than use another Minolta. Brother, HP for the win.
#1 Why? I don't find any reviews on this.. No duplex but good feature set otherwise.
I thought it was an oven when I first saw the picture.
Any good?
Please explain 1. I have a brother and it is great.
