Amazon occasionally has this item on sale for $25, so wait for a better deal unless you need it immediately.
Leave that extra $5 in the bank so it can accumulate sweet, sweet interest.
lol good point, it's a good time to spend for lack of better places to put the money
You don't want this model anyway, get its big brother the BC-900.
#4 I agree, pass on this one and get BC-900.
Was gonna get it, then Googled for info and found alot of info about these chargers and the MELT DOWN issue. Think I'll stick with my regular standard charger. Don't wanna risk burning down my house.
Myself and others are experiencing an issue with the BC-900: one of the modules has a problem reading correct battery info in that it reads it as being full or null. A partially successful work around is placing that particular battery in a quick charger for 30 secs and putting it back in BC-900. Sometime this works for me....others it doesn't.
What I do like about the BC-900 is the reconditioning mode that drains(discharge) and recharges(refresh) AAs and AAAs several times. Takes awhile to do that. Set it and come back inna day.
I own this unit; paid $25 bucks back in December.
BUY IT!
Best dang charger for $25 I've ever owned.
It's already paid for itself by bringing older batteries back to life.
Tons of features, but also very simple to use; I didn't even need to read the huge manual in order to figure it out.
LOVE being able to charge odd numbers of batteries as it charges each battery individually.
BUY IT!
reading #8's post is almost like watching an infomercial.
with that kind of talent he should be out punching hookers instead of trolling ben's.
Buy the Ansmann Energy 8 or 16 if you need a great charger for batteries beyond AA and AAA. It also charges batteries independently and brings supposedly dead ones back to life. Read the reviews on Amazon for yourself. Cheaper chargers don't charge independently nor can they determine when it's time to condition them which leads to maximum life for the batteries themselves.
#6, i thought the 9009 had the meltdown problem
I got the 9009. It ROOLZ. Best charger I've ever had. No problems with it.
I have the 9000. No problems with it. As #7 said sometimes if a battery is very depleted it may not want to charge it but a few min in a different charger brings the voltage back up to where it will. It doesn't happen often and the battery in question may be getting marginal. I usually mark it and see if it keeps happening to it. Best charger I am aware of.
