What if I don't have an Atomic Wall to put this on? Will a regular wall work?

I have one of these. It's not bad with two exceptions:

    • It doesn't display seconds (I didn't think it was a big deal, but I've found it would have been nice a few times.)

    • It's hanging on an outside wall that faces east, so in the afternoon during summer, temperatures are off (high) by several degrees as the temperature sensor seems facing the wall.

It "replaced" an analog clock because the noise bugged my wife. However, it may go back into the room because it's easier to read from across the room - especially in low light situations.

I have one very similar to this (weather rather than moon phases)
Its hard to find a good spot outside for the wireless thermometer, as the sun always throws it off... Plus I somehow pick up a neighbors signal which is a problem when I put it upstairs to monitor the temp of the unheated attic...

I'd buy mine again. Works great and it's one less clock to fool with at DST 2x a year! It changes it for you. Sounds stupid, but that is really a bonus after having to chage the time on the 5 or 6 other clocks in the house.

I keep my sensor in the inside window sill to protect it from the elements. Bought it at Walmart for around $25. i really wanted their larger 4" readout but they're 2x as much online and 3x as much in the local specialty clock shops.
The model # to the one I originally wanted is
WS-8249U-CH. I've been very pleased with this one tho at less than 1/2 the cost of the other LaCrosse.
