    I have had no problems with Lacie drives and I use them all the time for professional video. Stay away from Accomdata.

    Yeah, I had one of these "Porsche Designed" LaCie drives die on me too. Not a very impressive quality, but nice price (if you don't give a darn about your data).

    I had one of these same drives just die on me. The drives inside were still fine but the unit was toast.

    Do a Google search on LaCie reliability, then make the logical decision to stay the hell away from them.

    Agreed. Agreed. LaCie is crap. Had *3* 1TB disks fail within a month, tech support wanted _me_ to spend hours reformatting/initializing each one. On a brand new drive? Ummm... No.
