These coverup sealers look fantastic for nearly a month, then you're back to the foggies. Real shame that it's legal to sell lights that are slightly cheaper than glass, but need to be replaced much more often. Thanks, congress!

If you don't seal your headlights after you removed the oxidized pitted surface they will yellow / haze up even faster. Sealers generally last about 6 months. I found it's easier just to replace the headlamps with new ones. Especially after I spent $45 on two 3M kits and did notice an OK improvement. Use the aftermarkets head-light-depot-com and be sure to seal them.

Polycarbonate headlight lenses haze and yellow due to UV exposure. The polishing simply removes that reacted layer on top. They will need continued maintenance but that's the price to pay for streamlined headlight housings on modern vehicles.

If you let them go for several years then you need a multi-step kit to progressively sand then polish them to a good finish, but once that is achieved, a periodic touchup with mild abrasives like plastic polish or brasso will suffice. Depends on how picky you are. PS, try to avoid polishing in hot weather or with power tools, a colder harder lens is easier to restore without heat induced hazing.

I have actually been using a Mothers Headlight Restoration kit and it seems to work the best of all that I have tried. It has 2 - 2 sided sanding pads as well as a foam ball you put on a drill. It comes with a large bottle of the cleaning stuff that you put on the foam ball on the drill. As others have said, the headlights still need periodic touch-ups, but no need to buy another whole kit. This one has done mine and 3 others cars and I still have half the bottle of cleaner left. The sanding pads are getting pretty worn out but the foam ball for the drill is fine. That's a ton of use from a $25 kit as opposed to buying one every time you need to do it.
