MeritLine.com has the Laptop Foldable Aluminum cooling pad with Three Quiet Cooling Fans & 4 USB Ports Hub for $18 with free shipping. It looks like a good design, allowing it to fold into a rectangular channel.

18$ for one with a USB hub is not a bad call, #2.

The question is whether the air flow will reach the intakes for your laptop that will determine if it actually "works" for you or not. I have an Asus c90, and it does for me. The physical position of the hub is what determines this.

#3, I like the foldable feature plus the USB hub. Of course, the airflow feature is the most important for a product like a notebook cooler

yea, i have an older laptop, might get this,

#2 check if the airflow under your laptop lines up with this.
if it does, then get it!

Do the fans work a long time or do they fail quickly?

I am guessing the airflow of my laptop (Dell E1405) almost lines up with this, but not 100% sure. And the 3rd fan at the lower portion shld cool the hard drive compartment I hope.

Okay, so I ordered this, and it didn't even include the power cable, just a miniusb. WTF? I am extremely disappointed so far. I tried to contact Meritline about this and will have an update here with the result from that contact.

The "optional 5AC power socket" thing is bogus crap, and I will be returning this thing for my money back unless radioshack has those kinds of power supplies for dirt cheap.

I should add that the original site did NOT have that disclaimer per the wayback machine:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20071228083926/http://www.meritline.com/foldable-cooling-pad-w-4-ports-usb-hub-silver.html

Thus, if they don't send it, I'm filing a BBB complaint.
