The resolution on these Win8 tabs sucks. Aside from that silly looking front end UI I don't see how Win 8 will give a good tablet experience. On the other hand I have MSFT stock so buy it.
That's the whole point of the tiles. Simplicity. Who cares about fancy icons when one click puts you where you want to go. That's like saying a rubiks cube is lame because it's just boxes and colors.
^ and I can't remember the last time I was in the mood for gaming and pulled out a rubik's cube. It's a dumbed down interface for preschoolers or devices too small to have a reasonably usable keyboard.
Want to just click a tile to go somewhere? That's exactly the functionality you get by making a shortcut icon, so Win8 only gives that one part of the functionality its predecessor had.
