$50 price drop. Dell Business has the new Latitude 10 64GB Win 8 Pro 10.1" Tablet for $649 with free shipping. Includes a swappable battery, a rarity among tablets.
Intel Atom Z2760 1.8GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 64GB SSD
10.1" IPS 1366x768 Gorilla Glass, BT 4.0 LE, Win 8 Pro
Come on D*ll, let's see this for $500, even then, it's pricey. Atom is somewhat doable perhaps, maybe more so with Win 8. However, only a 64 Gb SSD? That's the killer at this price. Would love to jump on this but with a small SSD, 2 Gb RAM (can't even configure it with more), and the Atom CPU, I can get a much better overall machine in a laptop format for half the price. Sure, I don't need another laptop but would like a tablet like this. However, at the current price and specs., this is a no deal outcome. Ditto the Thinkpad 2 tablet unfortunately, and the Lynx seems to be overpriced too from the early reviews. These were the makes/models I had early interest in but my interest is dropping like a lead balloon.
I will gladly pay $700 for a 4 Gb RAM instead of 2 Gb. I Samsung might offer a 4 Gb after their Series 7 tablet. But I really don't like the 11.6 form factor - would like a true 10.1 tablet with 4 Gb.
