$111? Really? What kind of goober spends this much for a $5 pot?

Mostly non goobers that only want to buy something once. I have the 5 1/2 quart round. Heats up fast and stays hot on lowest flame. They are pricey, but really depends on how you like to cook.

Costco sells a beautiful 6 qt round pot under its store brand that is made by Le Creuset for $60. And yeah, these pots are worth every penny and will last a lifetime. If you're serious about cooking you should get one.

It's true you can opt for a knock-off at Walmart for 20% of the price (thanks #4 I didn't know the Costco ones are from Le Creuset!) but if you're the kind of person who wakes up and says, "Hmm, I wonder what I can make for dinner" then Le Creuset is the kind of cookware (I mean their enameled pots) where you save up for about a year, wait patiently for a deal (or luck out at a TJ Max or Le Creuset outlet) and you get a mid-sized pot.

The problem in my case (first was a 4.5 quart) is that it's worse than crack. We now have 3 (including a Cuisinart oval knockoff) and come the first hint of fall, they are constantly on the stove or oven. I am eagerly waiting for the funds and opportunity to buy a 7.5qt round oven.

Even with a cheap copy, do this in one that fits a whole chicken: wash the chicken, splash some salt, pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice on it, and put it in the oven. Put the lid on the pot, and cook it at 350 for an hour. No need to look, no need to turn it, nothing. Just cook. Then, take the lid off, and if you're feeling a little like Julia Child, take a long swig from a vodka bottle, then get a pastry brush (or baster) and baste it with the juices. Put it back in, turn the oven up to 425, take the lid off, and let it brown (about 15-20) minutes. It will so kick the ass of any store-bought rotisserie chicken (OK not really because they jack up the store ones with injected "flavor") that you'll say, "Wow, good investment." And that's the point: treat the pot with respect and it'll serve you for 30 years.

The size is way too small. Not good!

The real bargains for these are found at yard sales and thrift stores...

I have the costco round version. its an awesome pot. if you havent experienced cooking with quality pots and pans you will be amazed. i have to admit that $111 is a no go for me. these things are often available at significant discounts at marshalls/home goods and tjmaxx

I didn't know you could use this on the hotplate you have in your parents basement.

This is an incredible deal. Lifetime warranty on these. My wife dropped the lid of ours on the floor and Le Creuset replaced the whole thing free of charge.
