I thought about jumping on one of these a few months ago. I decided to get a XT2 from Dell outlet for $1k instead. You can also get an X61 tablet from Lenovo outlet for about $1k. If you just want a tablet to play with, then this is okay; but if you're going to use it a lot, get somewhat current gen hardware. I think you can find Dell XT tablets for $7-800 on Dell outlet too.

the real problem with the x4 generation of laptops/tablets is that they all used the snail crawling 1.8" harddrives. This leaves you with few options to upgrade. If you're willing to spend the money, there's a company called Kingspec that makes 32/64/128gig MLC SSDs that are specially designed to fit x40/x41/x41t. With this upgrade, you can pretty much blow any netbook out of the water(with the exception of the ION platform ones in the graphics department)

The pentium M was never a speedy processor either. I agree with #4. If you want a tablet to play around with for the "wow" factor then this is a decent deal. If you want a tablet to be productive on then spend more and get a current gen one.

I had one of the X61-T's about 1 1/2 years ago. Black screens of death with both VISTA Business and XT Pro Tablet. I bought this thing to be more productive and it made me LESS productive. Sold it and bought a 13" MacBook. What a difference. That MacBook converted a 25 year DOS/Windows user. Buy a MacBook refurb. from the Apple store and stop fighting with your machine. The Lenovo utilities/drivers reminded me of DOS/Win 95. Ugly, temperamental, and poorly integrated. The MacBook just works. The difference is amazing.
