I got a brand new X61. The 9-cell batt pack died in 18 months. The replacement cost $180 plus tax+shipping. I will save a little more to get a netbook.

Not a great deal considering you can pick one up, used or refurb, on eBay for <$300 shipped, with better specs to boot...

Unless the need or use is known, a tablet PC should be avoided by the average consumer. Before it becomes a viable technology, the UI of tablets needs further development; in both hardware and software .

these refurbs aren't worth it - bought one when they were on sale for $350 about a month ago...the pen housing didn't hold in the pen and the battery was only 41% chargable and would die after 1 hour of use. I had to spend 2 hours on the phone between Lenovo and eCost in order to get a refund. initially they proposed a replacement option where i had to buy another one out of pocket before sending in the old one and waiting another 10 days for a refund. this deal is bad news bears.

#11, at least you were able to get some sort of help from eCost. They sent me a DOA product, and then tried to say that I needed to contact the manf to do a return. I filed a dispute with Visa, and received a refund. I'd avoid eScam.

Dont buy from these guys they will rip you off and hassle you if you need to return it. Read the reviews I wish I had first.
