This new version is a huge improvement over the older version. I have both and recommend this one. One correction to the OP, it does not have a trackball. It has a button where the trackball used to be that detects movement of your finger like a trackpad.
And that movement is hard to be precise. I have both as well. I prefer the trackball movement. But overall this one is better. Backlit is a must
