      So I'm looking for a new laptop for my husband. Would this be an ok computer if it's usually going to be used for surfing, writing a few documents and similar like things?

      ummm i don't think it's water resistant enough for surfing or for, similarly, wake boarding

      I'd get an Inspiron with Ubuntu, or else wait. Vista Premium on PCs purchased after July 1st get a free upgrade to Windows 7
