pcmag review ... Pros
Phone apps look fine and work well. Decent battery life.
Cons
Subpar screen. Middling performance. Rapidly aging OS.
Bottom Line
With both the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet available for $50 less, the Lenovo Ideapad Tablet A1, with its middling performance and low-quality screen, is a tough sell.
Perhaps instead of copying and pasting info you could provide a little better first hand use of the tablets mentioned?
Both the Kindle and Nook are locked down and the average user will have a hard time getting content from anything other then Amazon or B&N.
The A1 tablet also adds front and rear facing cameras, out of box support for the Android Market and around 12GB free space and another nearly 2 GB for apps, not to mention a microsd slot.
All Operating systems are aging.. Doesnt mean they are not usefull.
both reviews are helpful, saves people a search and click. any productive comments at Ben's is better than the usual lack of reader input.
Thanks #1, having dealt with the Viewsonic G-Tab I know I will never again buy a tablet with a lousy screen, no matter how much of a bargain it appears to be. It's just a complete waste of money.
google is coming out with its own tablet called the google nexus tablet. it will go head to head with the kindle fire.
go to techradar and search for "google tablet".
For a few dollars more you could get a used 16GB iPad Generation 1 (possibly Gen 2 if you are lucky).
But who wants to deal with a lousy iPad with its lousy Apple features. All the iPad has to show for it is the tons of apps on the app store. Who needs apps if you can spend the day mesmerized by the slick interface on Android tablets ! God only know why they are so immersed in their apps especially when it does not support the very stable and secure Adobe Flash. Those silly Apple fanboys they are so busy with all those ipad apps they are missing out on all the action.
