People who bought netbooks usually added more ram and changed the harddrives to bigger ones.

I checked the Lenovo website and found that this netbook doesn't have Bluetooth. Not even an option to add Bluetooth to the system. Ben, don't be such a liar!!!

this was my first choice. i didn't care for N, only needed BT, 6 cell. s10 wasn't available when i needed it, bought eee 1000h instead. has N, BT, 6 cell. Don't use N, BT, and 6 cells lasts 3 hours or less, when underclocked, it's heavy, made of cheap plastic, now in Indiana getting fixed by asus. if s10 is lighter and gets at least 3 hours, could be a deal...for 200-250.

The surprising lack of ram in these netbooks is Microsoft's fault.
Their licensing of XP to these vendors prohibits them from selling a netbook with more than a bare minimum amount of memory.

#13, the first time I've heard of this. Such weird policy.

Umm #13, that would explain 1GB not 512MB.

Just add 2GB for $20 and STFU, it takes about 30 seconds. For it's intended use, mine ran fine on 512mb. It's a netbook not a freakin' desktop replacement.

#17- According to the article #13 mentioned:

      Quote:
Another limit that Microsoft has in place is a hard limit on the amount of RAM you can have in a “Netbook”, or more specifically how much RAM the “netbook” edition of Windows will tolerate. In this case, it'll allow an absolute maximum of 1GB.

Since there is a hard limit, and thus one if very likely to replace the RAM to 2gig ASAP, they ship with the cheapest crap they can (512) and assume one will replace it - thus 512.

I got a 1000h too. I think your battery might be messed up. I have gotten about 5hrs of battery life on middle performance, online (over wifi) and with some mild apps (ms word, etc) open.

I have also tried to see roughly how far I could push it and the battery meter claimed it could last bout 7hrs with wifi off, screen brightness down to lowest level, and super conservation mode on. Prob not totally correct, but def at least 6hrs.
