Amazon has the Les Miserables (Kindle Edition) for $0 downloaded. Hugo's classic tale set against the backdrop of political upheaval in 19th-century France retains its timeless appeal in this abridged rendition of the struggles of former convict Jean Valjean.

Victor Hugo's best. Read the book before you watch the movie.

Just saw the movie, it made me want to read the book. Glad I don't have to spend the $ now, or wait for it to become available in the library.
