Nice AR price but rebate is way too big for a mere 133X 8GB CF card even if some want to claim the Lexar brand is magically better.
seriously good deal, if you are a dumbass... what happens if the rebate falls through? you just overpaid 4x for the flash card. The way i look at rebates is its must be something i really want, or still almost worth it if the rebate falls through.
good luck
I've had good luck with Lexar rebates. I've stopped trying to peal UPC stickers off the plastic container; now I just cut them out and send the plastic along with the rebate form.
lexar is good on their rebates for me, so i'd go for this if it was the 300x card.
Rebates are no problem unless you're an rodeo cowboy who can't fill out a form correctly. I get 95% of my rebates on the first try, and the other 5% take a quick follow-up email. Just keep copies. Stop your whining.
Make sure you fill out your ENVELOPE CORRECTLY. If you cant read and you dont fill out ENVELOPE correctly, kiss your rebate goodbye.
Great way to update an ipod mini.
$80 rebate. Feelin' lucky, punk?
No you know these company's sales volume report are all fake!!!
#1 - you are not nearly as bright as you think you are. There are CF cards that are not compatible with some DSLRs. SimpleTech made cards that did not play nice with Nikon D100s, and quality is not defined by the materials in a product so much as the inspection process and lot homogeneity.
The point of paying more for products with higher quality standards is that variations in manufacturing and lithography are reduced, and there are typically more rigid inspections, which drives the price up.
You would do well to get an education on manufacturing technologies and methodologies. I'm not defending Lexar specifically, but your claims about "all cards being the same" are clearly based on ignorance.
BTW - these are being discontinued in favor of newer cards. However, 133x is plenty speedy for current DSLRs if you are not shooting in continuous or burst modes at full resolution.
Got my first lexar batch of rebates, and have recieved confirmation on my second batch. No problem with lexar rebates.
Card has great capacity, but is slower which makes it quite painful when downloading 8 gb worth of images even with a FW800 readers.
#10, you are ignorant and stupid for pretending to know while being ignorant.
The fact is, these are all industry compliant CF standard cards.
If your camera or other device can't work right with an industry standard card, don't dare ever blame the card instead of the defective device.
#10, you are stupid for thinking it's "higher quality standards". No, I mean ignorant, but then stupid for writing anything while being ignorant.
Stupid people are like monkeys, they automatically think that if something is more expensive, or shinier, that that makes it automatically better.
Bottom line? There is no reason to buy this if the fake "quality" bs is the concern. This is not a high quality CF card at all, it's chips, PCB, plastic housing, connectors, etc, are not at all higher quality than anything else.
Don't be stupid. There is no such thing as "quality", either it works at the right price or doesn't. The vast majority work at a fraction of the before rebate price. Lexar has absolutely nothing, no reason at all to make someone buy their product except if it was this price without a rebate.
Literally, you should never pay over $30 before the rebate for a pathetically slow 133X 8GB card. Anyone who says otherwise is an rodeo cowboy and the proof is everyone else using other 133X or faster cards fine. We don't want to consider proof though do we? Dumbassness seems to be a substitute these days.
Hint: rodeo cowboy, CF is a standard. If any and all CF cards that meet that standard don't work 100%, it's always the fault of the device it's in. That's why standards exist. rodeo cowboy.
Well, Dave_C, you are simply burp retarded.
CompactFlash is a form factor for a mass storage device, *and* a standard. There are two types of CF cards, one of which is a microdrive; not all devices work with TypeII because of the formatting *and* the size difference. Further, CF is not a blueprint that any shop can turn out... there are specifications, and some slack within those. Not all CF cards are created equal.
Obviously, the vast majority work. Lexar's cards have been sold to and represented by some of the best folks in photography, partially because of their warranties, but also due to their reliability. I'd put the lowest of them far above your pathetic attempts at convincing people here.
Apparently, you also do not understand that there are filesystems on CF cards, and that can cause compatibility issues, as well. There is a published standard for CF, but not all manufacturers meet all elements of the standard.
The 'device' is a Nikon D100, which has performed flawlessly since I bought it. I contacted SimpleTech a couple of years ago and they confirmed that some of their lines were not compatible with DSLRs. Huh...
So, there's proof, asshat. 'Proof' is not your stupid ass claiming "everyone else". Talk about self-serving statistics.
btw...
Let's give this a little framework... I'm a semi-pro photographer, a published Photoshop author, and an engineer with a physics degree. I deal with quality issues that go up to Congress. I'm certain you have no understanding of manufacturing quality in any aspect.
Go pick up a copy of The Toyota Way, or take a class on Six Sigma.
What is truly amazing is that you can not comprehend anyone being right but yourself. You are ignorant beyond belief. No, I mean stupid.
As to your 'hint', well you pointed it out yourself; "if any and all CF cards THAT MEET THAT STANDARD..." Clearly, as I've stated, not all of them meet the standard.
So, blow it out your ass. Proof, again, is not your specious claim that "everyone else using other ... cards [are] fine". Of course other cards work, retard. Do you drive a Yugo because it's just as good as a Toyota? Well, maybe *you* do.
And if you can't do better than "anyone who says otherwise is an rodeo cowboy", you clearly are not capable of forming a cogent argument. Brilliant reasoning, Aristotle.
Rebate sez 3 cards allowed per claim, dammit I'm going for broke!
Six Sigma sucks bawls ... Seven Sigma is the new Six Sigma.
Actually I wish I'd bought a Yugo and garaged it back when they were still making them...
1) A mint-condition Yugo would probably be worth a nice amount by now.
2) It's always cool to drive a car that no one else has.
Here you go guys:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1987-Yugo-GVL-Fiat-52K-Miles-Cool_W0QQitemZ290285467586QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZbaconQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item290285467586&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
Actually, the industry standard will be moving to Seven Sigma RC 1.4q, Rev D, Issue 16.s any day now. But keep an eye out for a change order to strike "the" from paragraph 218, line 3, and replace it with "mackerel".

Compact Flash is a standard. The form-factor is part of that standard. A microdrive is not a compact flash card, DUH? Ever wonder what "flash" in the name means?
If your CF card is not formatted properly, format it. Duh? If your device can't use larger cards, again as already stated it is a device problem.
CF IS a blueprint that any shop can turn out. You are right ... [Truncated]
