irradiated ... not to stir the pot or anything but if you are so successful why are you shopping here with us ghetto dogs?
You'll notice I implied I was experienced, and said nothing of success. Besides, just because someone makes enough to pay full price, why should they? To be honest, I'm somewhere in between - I have enough, mostly because I use it carefully
btw - I jumped on this deal when the rebate first hit and B&H were selling them for $70. Ordered 3, and just got confirmation that I'll be earning $30 on the deal, less $5 for shipping.
So... I got 3 solid performers and $25 for the effort.

My device, as stated previously, is a semi-pro DSLR, which currently uses the card in this page just fine. And as also stated SimpleTech admitted it was their card that was not compatible, not a failure of the camera.
Strike two.

Actually, a standard is a specification for product performance, and typically includes form factor. There are also multiple versions of the published standard. You may consider that many other products have 'standards', but fail to perform under certain circumstances - USB and FireWire products are both meant to be built to standards, but don't always work un... alrighty... I was too harsh in this discussion. I deal with similar issues day in and day out, and this just revved me up.
I sent an apology to dave_c via PM for my language and behaviour, so hopefully, we return you to your typically milf_hunter/bacon variant love-in.
Linnk is dead anyhow.
It was nice, even gentlemanly for irradiated to send a PM, but it avoids the central issue.
Most people do not buy these overpriced cards and do not have any problems. I could go on at length about misconceptions but that's the bottom line consumers need to know, that on average, most people (without defective devices) pay less for a better performing card. It really has everything to do with whether the device using the card is non-standard and doesn't work properly.
That's a really good reason to avoid the device, or, camera.

And considering my $30 in rebates just showed up, I guess I can't complain about getting a retiring card... 24G + $25 = win =)
