I believe the site is a little deceptive. You do not get the $100 off unless you also purchase the ($130 - $20) toner. It's not a terrible deal -- 2 year warranty and a very inexpensive additional toner, but not the deal it appears to be.

Also note that you can get the same printer for $120 at OfficeDepot.com (limit 1, free shipping)

Not sure what you are smoking #2, but $130 (even minus $20) for a mere 3,500 page toner cartridge is not very inexpensive at all, that is one of the highest costs per page in the industry!

(and that high cost doesn't even count that these have a separate photoconductor kit you have to buy instead of it being built into the cartridge cost!!)

You won't ever have inexpensive printing with a Lexmark unless you happen to find an old model that comes with a lot of toner included, then throw it away when done with the first cartridge(s). However unlike some of their larger printers, this one doesn't ship with full carts, it ships with mere 1K page starter cartridge so a home user would be hard pressed to find this a good value especially considering bulk toner refills tend to be less common and more costly when they exist at all for Lexmarks compared to others like Brother or Samsung.

You could literally end up paying over 4X as much per page with this printer.

130 - 20 - 100 = pretty cheap. Thanks for your manifesto about Lexmark printers though.

    Again, no.

$100 for a 3,500 page cartridge is a very expensive cost per page, and most other cartridges this size don't require purchasing a separate photoconductor as that is usually build into the cartridge on other printers in this price range.

To put it in perspective, those who buy a Brother or Samsung printer can refill the cartridge at least twice with bulk toner before needing to buy a new cartridge (because the drum is worn out after 3 loads of toner).

    Let's do the math:

    Lexmark $100 for 3,500 pages = 2.9 cents/page

    Samsung $70 for 3,000 page cartridge + $14 delivered for two toner refills, $84 total for 9,000 pages = 0.9 cents /page

Over 3 times more expensive not even counting the cost of the Lexmark photoconductor replacement. Even if you don't want to refill the Samsung and instead pay $70 for each 3,000 page cartridge it's still only 2.3 cents per page, OR you can buy generic cartridges for about $40 each in a pack of 3 which is 1.3 cents/page.
