do you even remotely know the power usage differences between the two technologies? sure, plasma uses more power in general, but can be lower or higher than a comparable (non-LED) LCD, depending on the images being displayed. regardless, the difference per month would be in the single dollars or less range for an average home. wow. what a deal breaker.

go ahead and pay 2-3x the amount for an LED LCD unit..bacon'll only take you...oh...how many years to recover those hundreds of dollars in energy savings? lol

I just bought this and the contrast ratio is MUCH higher than 13,000:1, and much better than most LCD screens I've seen. Don't know where that number comes from. Main problem with this plasma, and apparently most plasmas, is the reflection off of the glossy screen.

#1, I do. Actually, I have the money to pay the power bill for a 50" Panny Plasma. No glare problem with mine when the TV is on, either.

720p is garbage, unless you sit at least 7 feet away. Otherwise, all you will see is a screen door.

All plasmas suffer from PHOSPHOR TRAILS. Watch any black and white movie on a plasma and you will see yellowish "halos" if you move your eyes back and forth. If you can't see it, then you have crappy eyesight.

LCDs suffer from motion blurring (and the 120/240hz nonsense only makes it look worse). Only Samsung LCDs have fine tune controls that let you adjust the levels of blur control separately from the judder control.

If you are buying an LCD, buy a higher-end Samsung (650, 750, 850, LED, etc.)

#7, from your post we can easily extrapolate that you watch old B&W movies from the inside of a cardboard box. Why else would you watch a flat screen from less than 7' away and be able to personally testify to phospor trails on plasmas? Also, prime distance from the set varies by screen size and pixel size. 720p plasmas can have more than one actual resolution.

Oh, and congratulations on your practical expertise with the anal intruder 3000 electronic stimulator. But don't bother with a review; you're enough of a pain in the ass for any forum. HA!

720p plasmas certainly can't go any higher than 720p (which is already too low). Perhaps you dream of owning a 720p plasma because you could never afford anything better. Poor turds like you make me sick.

Phosphor trails on plasmas are very real. But you wouldn't know that because you only have a 15 inch Coby tv from 1997.

We don't want to hear about your experience with some homo sex toy. Stop posting lies and misinformation about televisions. You have been warned.

Again, I have the set in question and I cannot see any screen door effect unless I'm only a few feet away. Certainly not visible at 7 ft. I've heard 720p is perfectly fine for sets 42" and smaller.

<table width="90%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3" border="0" align="center"><tr> <td><span class="genmed"><b>bacon wrote:</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="quote">HAHA! You miss the point, Mrs. Expert. 720p plasmas can have 2 different amounts of pixels. Pixels on plasmas don't exactly match 720p resolutions, like LCDs do. So pixel sizes can vary both by TV size and pixel count. Therefore, prime viewing distance can vary both by screen size and pixel count. Regardless, your entire screen door point, which you've beaten to death for the last year+ under your plethora of previous IDs, is moot because very few normal people sit closer than 7' to a 42" or larger flat panel TV. For those rare exceptions, they should go with 1080p or move into a larger box.

I own 2 LCDs and 1 plasma. We watched some classic B&W Christmas movies over the last few days. They looked just as good on the plasma as on the 60hz 1080p LCD, but not quite as good as on the 120hz Samsung LCD. No problem with phospor trails at all. Perhaps you've acquired too many floaters in your eyes from drug abuse.

Warned? What are you going to do to stop me from making you look like the clueless dork you are? Nothing! HA!

Now stop touting your expertise with electronic anal devices. No one wants to hear your claims of what an expert you are at employing them.

Oh, and Merry Christmas to everyone else. Hope you all get new flat screens, especially the guy who named himself Mr. gaaay since he needs to replace that 1997 Coby he's been talking about since Ben's was created! HA!</td> </tr></table><span class="postbody">

      1. "We watched some classic B&W Christmas movies" ... Did you and your boyfriend enjoy those movies? burp homos.

      2. Phosphor trails are real. Search youtube for "phosphor trails" to see prime examples. Watch "Sin City" and marvel in the black, white, and YELLO... [Truncated]
